
Winifred (Merrill) Peabody, 92, of Marblehead, passed away at The Lafayette on December 2, 2010. She was the loving wife of the late Warren H. Peabody. Winnie was born in Marblehead, the daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Hardwick) Merrill.
Raised and educated in Marblehead, she was a graduate of Marblehead High School.
She is survived by two sons, Warren F. Peabody and his wife Elisabeth of Scottsdale, AZ, and Gary A. Peabody and his wife Judy of Marblehead; three brothers, Frank Merrill and his wife Betty, Albert Merrill all of Marblehead, and Howard Merrill and his wife Carolyn of Alfred, ME. Winnie was predeceased by her daughter, Janet Merrill Peabody. Throughout her life her greatest moments of joy were times spent with her family, especially her four grandchildren, Janet, Mike, Chris, and Brett; seven great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her warmth, love and humor.
A memorial service will be held in the Dr. Arland A. Dirlam Chapel at Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Drive, Marblehead on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11AM. Burial to immediately follow the service. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Winnie’s memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements by the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, Marblehead.
