With heavy hearts, Beverly Elaine Fellin, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 98, in Huntley, Illinois. Originally from Marengo, Illinois, daughter of John and Cleo Davis. Lived most of her life in Lake in the Hills, and spent her winters in Mesa Arizona, she did this for 30 years. Her family thought this was the reason for her longevity. A beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She had started working at age 14, waitressing in Marengo, she eventually worked for Shady Lane Restaurant, after graduation from Marengo Community High School (1944). Beverly retired from Sherman Hospital, working as a Nurses Aid for over 20 years. She dabbled in every craft imaginable, starting with crocheting, ceramics, and taking classes in acrylic paints. In later years she fell in love with Dunkin ice coffee and she always had a bag of candy on her kitchen table. She believed blueberries were a super food, and would help her make it to her 100th birthday.
She lost the love of her life, her husband, Edward Fellin in 1993, married for 35 years. She is preceded in death by her daughter Vicki Lynn Fellin. She is survived by her children, Robert (Lynda) Meckley and Valerie Ebel, adored by her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was known for her lemon meringue pies, and Shady Lane's famous BBQ recipe, unfortunately the peanut butter fudge recipe has been lost. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s favorite treat was receiving fresh oranges from Grandma’s Arizona orange tree. She will be greatly missed from all that knew her, her gentle soul, and calm demeanor.
Beverly’s wish in lieu of a funeral, to have a small ceremony for family only.
