Carol Grimm

Carol Grimm, 43, of Marengo died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Loyola University Hospital. She was born November 12, 1968 in Oak Park to Earl and Carolyn Friend. On April 29, 1995, she married Warren Grimm at St. Philip Lutheran Church in Chicago.

She attended Zion Lutheran School in Summit and Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park and Concordia University. She was a teacher at St. Philip Lutheran School and more recently at My Father’s World Preschool at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake. She enjoyed baking, scrapbooking, reading and gardening. She loved Christmas music, singing and was always humming. She was a great mom who adored her kids. Carol will be remembered as a warm, caring person who was always willing to help.

She is survived by her husband Warren; her sons Benjamin and Andrew; her parents; Earl and Carolyn Friend; her mother and father in law Arnold and Dorothy Grimm; brothers Leslie (Pam), Matthew (Beth) and Scott (Judy) and Richard Friend; sister Rebecca (Mark) Friend; sister in law Donna (Brian) Tennis; nieces and nephews Lesley, Zachery (Natasha) , Nathan, Kiersten, Cindy, Mary, Cody, Nicole, Aiden; great-nephews Zachery and Nathan; and many aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

Visitation will be from 3-7 pm on Sunday, Feb 12 at Zion Lutheran Church, 408 Jackson St. Marengo. Visitation will continue from 10 am until the 11 am service on Monday, Feb 13 at the church. Interment will be in Marengo City Cemetery, Marengo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the care of her family to the education fund for her sons.
