Clarence Slais, 87, of Union formerly of Menominee Falls, Wisc., died Friday January 27, 2012 at Centegra Hospital, Woodstock. He was born May 22, 1925 in Milwaukee to Wellington and Ida (Krienke) Slais. He married Doris Scholtka in May of 1947. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, US Navy Club, and a 50 year member of the Masonic Order. He was a talented artist, enjoyed painting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Doris; sons John (Mary), James, Jeff (Debra), 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister Laverne Slais. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Raymond Slais.
Funeral services will be at 10 am on Wed, Feb 1 at Graceland Cemetery, 6401 N 43rd St. Milwaukee, Wi. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions would be appreciated.
