He was born November 13, 1958 in Belvidere to Philip and Florence (Hopp) Shadle. Dan collected trains, insects, and antiques. He was also a craftsman at heart.
He is survived by his wife, Trudy; his children, Daniel Shadle Jr., Sarah (Kyle) Smith, Elizabeth (fiancé Michael Vinik) Shadle, Katharine Shadle, Joseph Shadle, Hannah Van Kleef, and Adam Van Kleef; his grandchildren, Daniel III, Mackenna, Owen, and Coral; his siblings, Thomas Shadle and David (Denise) Shadle; and his brothers-in-law, John Henning and Joseph Osher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Philip Jr., Carol Henning, and Kathy Osher.
A memorial visitation will be from 2 to 6pm on Sunday, March 30 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo.
