She was born December 29, 1950 in Chicago to Charles and Lillian Bonk.
Dorothy spent her career as a certified nursing assistant. She loved being outdoors, watching the Cubs, and was a huge Cher fan. She enjoyed being around family and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy was a strong woman. Her determination to make it through every obstacle was a source of strength for her children.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Shelly Sauers, Amy (Tony) Sauers, Valerie (Jr.) McGuire; her sons, Scott (Hope) Sauers, Jeffrey (Faith) Sauers, Matthew Bonk; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Dennis Bonk; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, Cody.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa; her parents; her brother, Charlie (Kathy) Bonk Jr.; her sister, Marlene (Bernie) Ponzetti.
There will be a visitation from 11am to 1pm on Monday, May 24 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. There will be a service at 1pm.
Interment in Marengo City Cemetery will follow.
