Fredrick C. Demann Sr.

Fredrick C. Demann Sr, 85, of Marengo, Illinois passed away on October 16, 2021. Fred was born on October 11, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Hans and Lillian Demann. Fred attended East Leyden High School until serving in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959 stationed in Germany. On November 5, 1960, he married the love of his life, Arlene Briggs at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Franklin Park, Illinois. Fred worked as a truck driver for the majority of his career. After retiring from truck driving, he enjoyed reading books and spending time with his family. Fred had a great sense of humor and was a known jokester.

Fred is survived by his wife Arlene Demann; children, Philip (Cassandra) Demann, Susan Demann-Hamm, Fredrick (Lisa) Demann Jr; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Kenneth and Clarence Demann.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 9am until the time of Service at 12pm at Marengo-Union Funeral Home (505 E. Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60152). Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery (Marengo, IL). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Marengo-Union Public Library.
