Gerald "Buzz" Lee, age 63, of DeKalb, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Buzz was born November 1, 1961 in Belvidere, the son of Charlotte and Gordon Lee. Buzz graduated from Marengo High School in 1979.
Buzz was an incredibly talented machinist. He enjoyed playing a good round of golf. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He was a grill master, making everything from burgers to chicken to brats.
Buzz is survived by his mother, Charlotte Hoffmann; his sister, Cathy (John) Volpe and her children, Nicole Ticknor and Jason Volpe; his step-siblings, Denise (Jim) Newbold, Mark (Coral) Hoffmann, and Rick (Terry) Hoffmann; his uncle Larry Lee; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Buzz was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Lee; his brother, Allan Lee; his step-father, Richard Hoffmann; and his step-brother Scott Hoffman.
There will be a celebration of life in the spring.
