Gloria J. Miller

She was born June 22, 1930 at Oak Park Suburban Hospital in Oak Park to Francis and Gladys (Edge) Peuser. She graduated from Palatine Township High School in 1948. On August 7, 1949 she married Clarence J. Miller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine.

Gloria worked for the Thomas J. West Law Firm at the Monadrack Building in Chicago after graduating high school. After she and her husband moved to Union they owned and operated C&G Restaurant in Union. She also worked for the Marengo-Union School District 165 where she retired after 20 years of service.

Gloria was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Union and a past choir member. She had been a resident of Union most of her life and was very proud of her town. Her passion was also her family, which remained the center of her life. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and was beloved by everyone she touched.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Pam) Miller, Taffie (Gale) Iwanicki and Clarence Miller, Jr.; her grandchildren, Kelly (Tom) Williams, Chad (Dyan) Miller, Cori (Dave) Ullmann, Abbi Sullivan, Mike (Melissa) Iwanicki, and Joe, Derek, and Kaitlyn (Bobby McCarron) Miller; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ryley, and Ryan Williams, Bailey, Cameron and Logan Miller, Nathan and Pierce Ullmann, Alyssa Sullivan, Andrew and Aiden Iwanicki, and Damien McCarron; her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Miller and Cathy Scardina; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence on March 11, 2009; her parents; and her brother, Wesley Peuser.

A memorial visitation will be from 10am to 11am on Friday, August 28 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St., Union. The service will be at 11am.
