Joachim Urich Lorenz, age 96, of Marengo, Illinois passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025. He was born March 23, 1929 in Germany. He came to Chicago in 1956. Joachim worked at Pfizer for over 40 years. He enjoyed boating, ballroom dancing and riding motorcycles. Joachim was a computer whiz and loved working in his yard. He even enjoyed roller skating into his 80's. Joachim was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo for many years. He doted on his granddaughter, Dona.
Joachim is loved and missed by his son, Rudolf Lorenz; daughter-in-law, Janet Lorenz; treasured granddaughter, Dona Lorenz and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to OSF Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Joachim.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 North Taylor Street, Marengo, IL 60152 with a Memorial Mass to begin at 12:00 p.m.
