Jonathon “Jonny” Isaac Groscop, 20, passed away on April 28, 2020. Born in Miles City, Montana, Jonathon lived close to his Grandma Jo. When his mom was studying for finals at Concordia College, she would meet Grandma Jo in Bismarck, ND and she would kidnap Jonathon while his mom studied for her finals. Ever since then, Jonathon enjoyed any opportunity he had to spend with Grandma Jo. Later Johnathon and his mom moved to Illinois for a job opportunity in Insurance, where Jonny grew up until his passing. Jonny was very talented in sports, receiving the Silver Slugger bat award for being the best hitter on his team in little league. Jonny's Mom and Dad would load up the kids and head out to Montana as Jonathon would not miss an opportunity to go to Family Reunions with his Groscop side of the family. Jonathon enjoyed traveling to St. Joe Michigan, (Aunt Barb's house) to watch the Blossom Parade and hang out with family. Jonathon looked forward to going to Minnesota to spend time with his uncle Rob, Aunt Alicia and his Groscop cousins and he had a blast hanging out with them. Jonny looked forward to Christmas Eva at Granma Carol's with his Schroeder Cousins and Christmas Day with the entire immediate and extended Schroeder Family every year.

Jonathon (Jonny) was the loving son of Michael and Kristene Schroeder. He was the devoted brother of Aaron, Ryan, Lauren, Liam and Nathan. He was the cherished grandson of JoAnn Groscop and Carol Schroeder. Jonny was the dear nephew of Beth (Tony) Nykolajcuyk and Rob (Alicia) Groscop. He is survived by many, many cousins. Preceded in death by his grandfathers: James Groscop and Dennis Schroeder.

Couple years back Jonny, Beth, Josh, mikayla, and I went to a 4th of July carnival and I just remember Jonny being so protective and watching out for us the whole walk to the carnival not only that on the way there In the car mikayla, Josh , Jonny and I were crammed in the back seat and Jonny insisted on sitting in the trunk so we could me comfortable and he pursued to crawl into the trunk and crack all his silly jokes making the whole car full of laughter. We will forever miss you Jonny. I will miss you. Watch over the family for me. Rest easy and fly high❤️

Losing a loved one is never easy. My deepest sympathy to the family. Jonny was one of my sons (Nick Davalos) closest friends. I never got the chance to meet his mother, but I want to tell you he was a good person with a good heart and you did a great job raising him. He was always very respectful when he came over and he was always welcome in our home. Jonny was like family to us. I know he loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear."
