Jose Rios Garcia

Jose Rios Garcia, 72, of Marengo passed away December 18, 2018. He was born September 3, 1946 in Mexico to Salvador and Maria Rios. On February 19, 1983 he married Yolanda Velasquez. Jose enjoyed gardening, landscaping and especially being able to climb and cut trees. He loved to listen to music. Most important to him was family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was social by nature and liked visiting neighbors. Jose would try to teach Spanish to everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; his children, Maria Isabel, Sergio "Polo", Amalia "Titi", and Rosalio; his grandchildren, Sergio and Anjelica; his great-granddaughter, Selena Marie; his siblings, Rosa, Margarita, Manuel, and Adolfo; and several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Jose Angel and Juan Carlos; and his siblings, Pedro, Jesus, Guadalupe, Berardo, and Reyes. There will be a visitation from 1 to 5pm on Sunday, December 23 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am to the 10:30am funeral service on Wednesday, December 26 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Jolly, I know it will be very difficult for you, since you both did everything together, and were always together. you were a good wife by helping him always thru his illiness, it was a difficult thing to do. But he is not suffering or hurting anymore. I pray for your strength to move forward, and heal soon. I love you dearly. if there is anything I can do please let me know..
