Joshua T. Mack

August 18, 1984 – April 6, 2025
Obituary of Joshua T. Mack
IN THE CARE OF

Marengo-Union Funeral Home

Joshua T Mack, 40, of Huntley, IL died in his home on April 6, 2025.

Josh was born August 18, 1984 to Michael and Rita Mack in Houston, TX.

Josh enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2005 and proudly served his country for 4 years as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Fuels Third Class Petty Officer. During his enlistment he was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan and Norfolk, Virginia and deployed multiple times onboard aircraft carriers USS Kitty Hawk and USS Theodore Roosevelt in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Josh’s love for Mustangs and working on cars was a passion he was able to share with his son,

Austin. Josh was always available for others whether it was helping with an oil change,

rebuilding an engine or just hanging out, but his greatest times were spent with Austin. He and

Austin enjoyed time together working on cars, building things and sharing their immense love of

fishing. Their bond was something special and will live on in cherished memories.

Josh is survived by his Texas family:mother-Rita Mack, sisters-Michelle Marinello, Delilah Mack,

Danielle Mack and Krystal Dominguez, as well as brothers Aaron Mack and JC Mack.

In addition to being survived by his son Austin and Austin’s mom Jillian in Illinois, Josh is also

survived by the rest of his Illinois family: mom-Tina Magnetta (Mark Scharrenberg), dad-Michael

(Zoe) Magnetta, grandpa-Paul Ritter, brother & best friend Steven (Jessica) Magnetta, sisters

Lauren Magnetta (Kelsey Boyle), Gracie Scharrenberg and Sadie Scharrenberg, nieces

Madison, Jaida, Haylen and Harper and nephews Luke and Henry.

Josh will also be greatly missed by his extended Illinois family: aunt-Melissa Ritter and her children, his

uncle-Jeremy (Aimee) Ritter and their children as well as Jillian’s parents Richard and Diane

King, and Jillian’s siblings Joy Antipow (Dave Carini), Keith (Wendy) Antipow and Richie King

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at the VFW located at 3002 Route 120 in
