Kathy was the treasured daughter of the late Robert P. and Patricia J. (nee O’Mara) Lambert, and the beloved wife of Paul J. Kaul. She was the devoted mother of Mary Kathryn (Chris) Kaul-Goodman, Colleen Kaul (Kyle Pressel), Jean (Scott) Kaul-Brown and Frank Kaul (Morgan Widuch), and a loving grandmother to Kathryn Goodman, Patrick Pressel, Peter Pressel, Margaret Pressel, and Gabriel Brown. Kathy was the oldest sister of Robert P. Lambert, Jr., Celeste (David) Lee, Margaret Lambert, and Mary Ellen (Michael) Kerrigan and a fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was a proud alumna of Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, Illinois, and was a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana with a degree in Animal Science. While Kathy grew up in the Chicago suburbs she was always a country girl at heart and moved to rural Wisconsin after college. Kathy and Paul married on July 19, 1980, at Keyesville, Wisconsin. In 1989, Kathy and Paul made Marengo their family’s home. Kathy was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker and always focused on supporting her children and their interests. She shared her lifelong love of horses and dogs (Kathy’s first word was “dog”) with her children and many weekends were spent together at horse and dog shows. Kathy was also a Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader, and sports parent.
Later on Kathy, a constant reader, worked at the Marengo-Union Public Library, and retired in 2018 to spend more time focusing on her grand passion, breeding and showing Border Collies. Throughout the years, Kathy’s Brittemar Border Collies have won numerous championships and grand championships, and have been shown successfully at the highest levels of the American Kennel Club (AKC), while serving as loving companions to dozens of families. She was recognized by the AKC as a Breeder of Merit. In recent years, Kathy and Paul also focused on beautifying their home and yard with many beautiful plants and flowers.
