Leo V. Zimmerman Jr.

He was born May 20, 1969, in Woodstock IL to the late Leo V. Zimmerman and Janice (Sommerville) Conley.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 1987 to 1996.

He was a dedicated and loving, husband and father. Leo was an avid lover of outdoor activities and spending time with his family and pets.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Stacey; two beautiful children, Jordan and Kaitlin; caring parents, Eldon and Janice Conley, sisters, Deb Thompson (Zimmerman) and Annette (Dan) Hammortree (Zimmerman), two step-sisters, Shelly (Larry) Zoellick (Conley) and Kelly Mingus (Conley) and many aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Sr.; two siblings, brother, Larry Zimmerman and sister, Christine Zimmerman; grandparents, Leo and Lucille Zimmerman, Arthur and Lydia Sommerville and Ray and Florence Peterson.

The visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm on Wednesday, January 26, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6821 Main Street, Union IL. The visitation will continue from 10am to the 11am service on Thursday, January 27, at the church. Interment will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Mainstay Therapeutic Riding Program, the family or a charity of your choice.
