Born October 31, 1926 to Pastor Henry H. and Mary (Hennig) Kuehn. She was born In Sioux City, Iowa and raised near Centerville, South Dakota.
Lois taught grades 1-8 in a one-room country school for one year in Wecota, South Dakota. Then she answered a call to Zion Lutheran School in Marengo, Illinois teaching grades 1-3 before moving to kindergarten and ending up teaching preschool and Vacation Bible School for 30 years. She taught Sunday School for about 50 years.
After retiring from teaching, she worked about 20 years running the fudge shop at Donley's Wild West Town. She also worked at Donley's Banquet Hall for a good number of years.
She married G. Robert (Bob) Eickstadt, raised four children, Kathi (Lester) Linz, John Eickstadt, Anne Eickstadt, and Lori (Eddie) Jones. She has four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Lois is predeceased by her parents, her husband, daughter Anne, brothers Paul and Marcus, and sisters Ruth, Rhoda, Judy, Hannah and Beata Rachel. She goes forward ahead of sisters Miriam and Esther.
Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St, Marengo, on August 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with continued visitation at the same location on August 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
