Marcia Louise Harper

Marcia Louise Harper, 69, of Byron, Illinois, passed away on February 19, 2022. Marcia was born on August 13, 1952 in Belvidere, Illinois to Robert and Marion Rasmussen. Marcia grew up in Marengo, Illinois and graduated from Marengo High School in 1970. On September 5, 1970 she married the love of her life David Harper, they spent 51 beautiful years together. Marcia had jobs working at Hubbs, Warner Electric, Rock Valley Greenhouse, and County Market before retiring in 2016. Marcia loved gardening and tending to her flowers but even her love for gardening couldn’t rival the love for her 11 grandchildren.

Marcia is survived by her husband, David Harper; children, Joe (Joanne) Harper, Ben (Dana) Harper, Pete Harper, and Beth (TJ) Burpo; grandchildren, Jakob, Joshua, James, Savannah (Gavin Baade), Sage, Kaden, Quincy, Adalynn, Korrin (Ethan Towler), Zack, and Logan; brothers, Dale and Fred Rasmussen; sister-in-law, Mary Rasmussen; many nieces and nephews; cousin, Diane Foulker. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marion Rasmussen; brothers, Bill, Tom, and Jeff Rasmussen; lifelong best friend, Jackie Heelein.
