Michael Thomas Madura

Mike was a one-of-a-kind man who left an impression on everyone he met. He had a personality that was impossible to forget and a way of making sure you always knew exactly what he was thinking.

Mike was quick-witted, outspoken, and always had a comeback ready. He was never afraid to tell you exactly what he thought, and he certainly wasn't afraid to explain why you should think the same way.

Behind his strong personality was a man with an enormous heart for his family. Mike's greatest pride was his children, Shannon Madura and Colton Madura. He loved watching them grow, excel in sports, and become the men they are today. He was incredibly proud of both of them and loved them more than anything.

Mike was also looking forward to becoming a grandfather to his unborn grandson, Tate Thomas Madura. Although he never had the chance to meet Tate, Mike was already excited and proud to become his grandfather.

Mike is survived by his fiancée, Lisa Johnson; his mother, Gail Madura (Stark); his children, Shannon Madura and Colton Madura; his siblings, Linda Specht (Madura) and her daughters Jennifer Callender (Michael), Nicole Chavez (Nick), and Brittany Daurio (Jim); Jamie Madura and her daughter Elizabeth, who was Mike's goddaughter; and Christopher Madura. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester “Chet” Madura.

Mike loved his dogs, Raven and Blue, who were a special part of his life.

Mike loved music, and Blind Melon was one of his favorite bands. He also enjoyed playing the bass guitar. He loved to fish and enjoyed going to concerts.

Mike also had an incredible love for history. He seemed to know the answer to almost any historical question you could ask him—and usually knew the exact dates, too. His knowledge and passion for history were another part of what made him unique.

Mike was fortunate to have many lifelong friends who remained an important part of his life through the years. He valued those friendships and the memories, laughter, and experiences they shared together.

One of the most important friendships in Mike's life was with his best friend, Lance Zimmerman. They had been best friends since they were 16 years old. Over the decades, they shared countless memories, adventures, laughs, and stories. Lance was more than a best friend to Mike—he was like a brother.

Mike lived life on his own terms. He was outspoken, stubborn, funny, passionate, and fiercely himself. He could make you laugh, challenge your opinions, and sometimes drive you crazy. But there was never anything ordinary about Mike.

Most of all, Mike loved his family. His children were his greatest source of pride, and the love he had for them was something everyone around him could see.

Mike will be deeply missed by his family, his lifelong friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His stories, his laughter, his music, his opinions, and his unmistakable personality will live on in the memories of everyone who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to remember Mike, share stories, and celebrate the life he lived and the many people he touched along the way.
