Philip Red M. Gieseler

Philip M. Gieseler, age 67, of Marengo, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at home.

He was born November 18, 1945 in Chicago, to Philip and Josephine (nee Standish) Gieseler. He married Susan Cummens on June 18, 1971 in Chicago. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Phil kept in touch with the world through his computer. He enjoyed reading science fiction and building models of cars and helicopters. He took care of the house until his spinal stenosis limited his mobility.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; brother-in-law, David (Judy) Cummens; sisters-in-law, Marge Epich, Debbie (Paul) Lueders, Nancy (Ken) Ottinger; Mother-in-law, Carol Cummens; ten nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Marengo United Methodist Church, 119 E. Washington St., Marengo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church, or
