Roger Melvin Kunde, 78, of Union, Illinois passed away January 21, 2022 from COVID-19 with his loving wife Linda by his side. They shared 55 years of marriage together! Roger was born on October 21, 1943 to Melvin and Rose Kunde in Woodstock, Illinois. He grew up on the family farm in Union, Illinois on Kunde Road. Roger was always a hard worker at everything he did. He worked many jobs and retired early from the Illinois department of transportation in Woodstock, Illinois. He then spent years doing what he loved the most “farming” and helping others whenever he could. Roger was a proud Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He loved drag racing his red 1962 Pontiac Catalina and still loved attending and watching drag racing as often as he could. He also enjoyed reading, walking, food, and watching old westerns and Judge Judy. Roger was sweet, funny, hard-working and was always helping family or friends. He was a caring husband, loving father, and super hero of a grandpa.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Rose Kunde, his in-laws Mervin and Viola Ackman, and his sister-in-law Pat Moye. Roger will be forever missed and remembered by his wife Linda, son Jason, daughter Rogene (Fred) Kunde-Glee, grandson Anthony Macicari, great-granddaughter Anastasia Glee, sisters Judy (Mike) Ettner, Jan (Ward) Arnold, brother-in-law John (Shirley) Ackman, and many nieces and nephews.
Rest in peace dad, until we meet again. We all love you.
