Sandra Lee Ferreri

Sandra L. Ferreri, formerly Mallegni, peacefully went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 7. 2023 (Good Friday) at the age of 82. Sandy was born in Belvedere, IL on November 17, 1940 to Stanley and Adeline Meyer.

Sandy’s love for her family, friends, students, coworkers, and employees was evident to all who knew her. Sandy was very active in her community, church, and being Mama and Gramama. She loved Christmas and Jesus and no one did Christmas stockings better. She was a grocery store owner, and then became an exemplary teacher later in life amongst many other endeavors, including playing piano and accordion. She loved to golf and was a good athlete. Pinochle was her game of choice, and she was easily the best player amongst her brothers and sisters and most of her kids. We are all extremely Blessed that she was such a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Adeline Meyer, and her beloved first husband, Roland Mallegni. Sandy is survived by her beloved husband Charles Ferreri; her daughter Kimberly Mallegni; her step daughter Valerie (Garry) Norris; her sons, Michael (Gretchen) Mallegni, Jeffrey (Monica) Mallegni, and Todd (Elizabeth) Mallegni; her grandchildren Alexander Mallegni, Andrew Mallegni, Anthony Mallegni, Adrienne Mallegni, Jennifer Henze, Michele Van Bibber, Jeffrey Mallegni II, Kelly Mallegni, Joseph Mallegni, Hannah Mallegni, Tessa Platek, Tobias Mallegni, Ilyana Mallegni, Lyla Mallegni, Isaac Mallegni, Gavin Norris, and Avery Norris; her amazing 18 great-grandchildren; her brothers Norman (Jane) Meyer, Scott Meyer and her sisters, Sharon Bankson and Connie (Jack) Wesson.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 13th and Friday, April 14th from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St, Union, IL 60180. Funeral will take place Friday, April 14th at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial to follow at Marengo City Cemetery, Marengo, IL.
