Tadeusz "Ted" Urban

He was born January 24, 1938 to Piotr and Michalina (Maczka) Urban in Poland. On January 1, 1961, he married Stanislawa “Stella” Lenart in Chicago. She preceded him in death in 1990. He later married his second wife, Czeslawa, in June of 1993.

Ted moved from Poland to Chicago in 1959. He and his wife relocated to Marengo in 1971. He later retired in Surprise, Arizona before returning to Huntley to be near his family. He was an electrician and was a craftsman for a hobby. Each time he moved he would always take on remodeling projects. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed puzzles.

He is survived by his children, Edward (Diane) Urban, Ted Urban, Christine (Michael) Curry, and John Urban; his granddaughter, Christina; his great-grandson, Jayden; his brother, Leszek Stanley (Danuta) Urban; his nephews Peter and Paul; and his caretaker, Maria Owczarska.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella; his second wife, Czeslawa; his parents; and his sister, Halina Powezka.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Wednesday, September 26 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. Visitation will continue from 9:30am to the 10am prayers on Thursday, September 27 at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
