He was born May 21, 1983 in Waupaca, Wi to Kevin Zabel and Heidi Houghton. He enjoyed football, fishing, nature and the outdoors, Frisbee golf, music and playing drums. He had a passion for life and saw the good in everything. His family was very important to him especially his son, Alijah.
He is survived by his son Alijah, mother Heidi Houghton, father Kevin (Tammie) Zabel, sisters Alysia Zabel, Vanessa Schneider, Hilary, Kalli, Amanda, maternal grandparents Doug & Judy Houghton.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
A celebration of life will be from 3-7 pm on Monday, August 26 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy. Marengo, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for the care of Alijah.
