James J Cavo 87, formerly of Utica, NY, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side May 3, 2012 in Margate, FL under the care of the wonderful team of nurses at Hospice of Broward and NW Medical Center.
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born on March 14, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to Carmen Cavo and Agnus Zucchero. He was raised in Utica, NY and then eventually retired to Margate, FL. Although retired, he continued working with his sons on projects with Cavo Development and Southport Dredging.
He was predeceased by 4 brothers; Alfonzo, Vincent, Joe, and Santo Cavo and one sister Mary Decrescenzo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Pauline Speciale Cavo of Margate, FL
He is Also survived by a sister Josephine Block of Merritt Island, FL; sister Helen Carpenter of Merritt Island, FL ; brother Charles Cavo of Titusville, FL. As well as 5 Children: James (Kimberly), John (Gail), Carmine ( Terry), Linda Marie, and Paula, all of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 20 grandchildren , 25 great grandchildren, And many Nieces and Nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Weiss, Dr. Aliff, and the staff at Northwest Oncology along with the many others that contributed their loving care during this very difficult time. Lastly, a very special thank you to the grandchildren who showed so much support and help, and who handled the situation in a manner that made us very proud.
