

Mr. Jerry “Pops” Salvatore Mayone age 92 of Skeenah Gap Rd. Suches, Ga., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday May 22, 2026, at his home after succumbing to the effects of Lewy Body Dementia. Mr. Mayone was born on July 31, 1933, in Glasco, NY, the son of the late Salvatore Mayone and the late Teresa DeCicco Mayone. Jerry loved being “Pops” to everyone especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing golf, yard work, going on cruises, watching westerns and wrestling, playing solitaire on the computer and attending the Union County Senior Center where he had made many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Bernice Ann Mayer Mayone in 2016, a son, Gary Mayone and two sisters, Mary Doll Alecca and Rose Emma Mayone.
Jerry worked his entire adult life for Savin Brothers, Inc. where he was the superintendent of road construction and later managed Savin Citrus Groves in Florida. Jerry served as Captain of Ushers for several years and was very involved at his church, Our Lady of Queen of Heaven.
Surviving Mr. Mayone are one son and daughter in law, Jerry and Cathy Mayone Jr. of Suches, Ga. daughter in law, Mary Foley Mayone of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., one brother, Charlie Boy Mayone of Glasco, NY., three grandchildren, Melanie and Alexander Sawdye, Courtney and Thomas Schilling, Kelly Mayone, several great grandchildren, Kevin, Shawn, William, Katie, Thomas, Joseph and Oliver, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1 North State Road 7, Margate, FL 330634552, US, on June 1, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, 1400 S State Rd 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068, US, on June 1, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S State Rd 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068, US, on June 1, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.Where Jerry will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Bernice.
