Well mom ... it has been over a year and little by little our lives are getting back to normal. But what is the definition of normal. It will never be normal as when you were with us and the love that you shared. The void is still there and even though we all still comfort each other. It still hurts when we see that special picture, eat those special meals that you taught us, expecting to hear your voice when we call your home, and of course …. when we just want a special hug or a word of encouragement that gets us through the day.

The end is near with this journal that we have been writing our thoughts and prayers on. But that does not mean that we will ever forget you. We all love you and that is all that matters.

Well grandma its tommy I just wanted to say hey and I miss you a whole whole lot. Just figured I would let you know how my life has been gas prices are crazy, weather is beautiful, work is great, Kristi and I are engaged, and I now go to church every Sunday. But anyways I love you and see you when I get there.

Well mom ... Christmas has come and gone. It was not the same without you. Dad was a Tom's, Bill had his hands full with this army, and Norm and I spent some wonderful personal time. But still, Christmas was always a family time and you were the center of it all.

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas too with John, Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Ed and Uncle Berny.

Thanksgiving came and went. It was not the same without you. Family was gathered, toast were said, kids running around .... but the laughter was missing the sparkle that you brought to the holidays. Although Norman did chase a pig, that was funny.

Hi Joan,
This was a very special weekend for Bill and me because Billy and Amanda were married in an intimate ceremony Friday afternoon. We know that you would have been there to celebrate in person were you still with us. Even though you couldn't wrap your arms around him, Billy knows you were there in spirit watching him say his vows to Amanda. We all know you were with us and continue to watch over us from above. It's just that on days like this we miss you even more.

The love of a mother will never fade away. As each day passes the little reminders of the character and love that she passed on to me just makes me so proud to call her mom. I miss you so much.

Dear Vern, Bill, Joe. Tom and families,
I was so saddened to hear about Joan and all of her struggles. Most certainly she was comforted by your care and love. She loved all of you so dearly.
The last time I saw her we reminisced about the family picnics on the farm. I can feel those days as if they were yesterday and Joan and Vern always made it so special. We were so rich in family weren't we?
I also just came across a picture of Joan and me on a day cruise to the Bahamas where she introduced me to cruising and gambling, two of her favorite activities. Any time spent with her was always guranteed to be fun and memorable.

Ann and I were so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother, wife, grandmother.  Joan always was so kind to me when I was living in "Lauderdale" and Pompano. My fondest memories of Florida are going to Pompano Park with Joan, Vern, Aunt Teen, and the gang.   I'm so sorry I wasn't able to get to the funeral.  It is my greatest wish that we stay in touch.  Joan would have loved that.  Love to all the Sayers family from Jim and Ann Marron and family.

Happy Birthday Joan from down here below. Your first birthday in heaven, I wonder what it's like; It must be a sight with angels to sing Happy Birthday. With family and friends around you, how happy you're sure to be. We all love you and miss you.

Grandma- I can't believe that it has been a week already that you have left this earth and gone to Heaven to be with God, Uncle John and Granmda Teen and all the rest of the loved ones that are in Heaven waiting for us. Not a day goes by that I don't cry not because you are gone b/c I have came to peace with that but b/c of all the memories I have with you for the past 26 yrs! I Love you so much and can't wait to see you again! O one more thing the weather is wonderful here still as it has been since the day you went to Heaven. :)

To a wonderful and dear mother-in-law.  The past 4 weeks, and all the way up to the moment when she passed away from this world in this body, she was surrounded by friends and family.  I can’t think of a better way to leave this life than to have those you love most around you toward the end of this life.

I will miss her.  I can’t even begin to name the ways in which she helped both my husband and me.  I can’t even begin to describe what it was like to have a person there who truly cared so much about me over the years; I came to love this woman very much — just as though she were my mother.  Her life will be celebrated and her memory will live on and bring us joy in the years to come.  She will be missed so dearly by so many.

Grandma- As the days go by the "Weather" (I know how you always wanted to know about the weather) gets prettier an prettier here and I know it's because of you in Heaven smiling down on me and my girls. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. I know how difficult this time is for all of you. When I lost my Mother I offered this prayer in her honor. I share it with all of you.

   When I said "My foot is slipping", your love, O Lord, supported me. When  anxiety was great within me your consolation brought joy to my soul.

   Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again. For great is your love toward me. 

   Open for me the gates of righteousness, I will enter and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my Salvation.

I read this prayer ofter and it brings me comfort. I hope it helps to soothe your heart. As with my Mother, if love could have saved them, they would have lived forever.

I miss you so much Grandma as do you greatgrands Brooke and Abi. I want to remember all the fun times and laughs we had together. The girls still talk about making home made noodles and I will have to try to make the noodles with them as I know you will be helping me from Heaven. I love you so much and I know you knew that. It's never Good Bye It's a I see you later! and I know I will see you later! I LOVE YOU GRANDMA!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of Joan (Mrs. Sayrs) as I called her from my childhood. Have faith the Lord will get you through this difficult time. Now 2 Margate icons are gone Joan and Joan. They are now both in heaven laughing and playing cards.
