John Edward Bordenkircher passed away in his home on December 21st, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born on November 9th, 1938, son of Carl and Mable Bordenkircher. John was raised in Akron, Ohio and as a young man he served his country as a US Marine, SGT. After being honorably discharged for his services, John became a police officer in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In 1970, he moved to Margate, Florida with his family where he served for 26 years as a police officer, achieving the rank of Chief of Police from 1988-1996. John was a loyal friend and a loving family man who was married to his wonderful wife Sylvia, who proceeded him in death in 2008. John is survived by his brother Robert, daughter Tracy, son John (Patricia) and grandchildren; Melissa, Suzanne, Logan and John Carl. He is also survived by four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at; Viewing at; Kraeer Funeral Home from 1-5 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2019, located at 1 North, FL-7, Margate, Florida, 33063; Service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Royal Palm Christian Church, at 1 PM, located at 9600 Royal Palm Boulevard, Coral Springs, Florida 33065;* Internment will be held on December 31, 2019 at 10:30 AM, at The South Florida National Cemetery, located at 6501 FL-7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449. Guests please arrive no later than 10:15 AM.
