Dearest Aunt and Godmother, I miss you so much. I’m so sorry that we couldn’t be there with you in your last days. Michael was there and you were surrounded by prayer in your last hours from all your nieces and nephews.

You were such a wonderful person. We all have great memories with you from our childhood and into adulthood and our children were lucky enough to have made sweet memories with you, too!!!

I have always felt that we inherit so much from our godparents. I see it all the time. I see it in my own children and nieces and nephews. So I guess I was very lucky to have you as my Godmother. We had a lot in common. I loved how much we shared in kind. I even look a lot like you. Our love of textures in food and dill and so many other things.

I have loved you from the first day I can recall and I will love you always. Thank you for all your love and guidance through the years. Until we meet again. Rest well my dear sweet Auntie Ri💕

In my youth, I called her Aunt Ri Ri which brought her much delight, especially when I would share that we were going to Ri Ri's Ami (AKA Miami). In addition to being my aunt, she was my Godmother, and after the passing of my mom in 1996, she became my go to person for support and advise.

I had the great fortune to travel regularly to Florida to create memories with her on family vacations. She introduced me to Shrimp Scampi, when she offered me a taste of her meal. She was generous enough to forfeit her entire plate and ate my buttered pasta with joy.

Turtle Reef at Jensen Beach was a favorite vacation spot. We'd listen to Annie the Musical in the car ride there. I'll never forget the summer we saved a turtle who was struggling to return to the ocean after being born and took it to the conservatory.

After my mom passed, she gave me the book The Kitchen Companion, so that whenever I had cooking questions I could find an answer. Annually I would receive a new cooking book and we would spend many hours talking about recipe's and reading cook books together. I'll never forget the day I was snowed in Jersey City and she spent the whole day on the phone with me while she walked me through making Beef Soup.

Her patience and kindness was abundant. There are so many wonderful memories. I will miss her more than words can ever express.

Marie Chomack was my aunt. To the next generation she was known as the Great One, being the Great Aunt for many cousins. She was a very kind and giving person, generous to a fault and a person of great faith.

She moved to Florida from New York in support of her retiring parents. Her life's work was in service to many through her practice as a nurse in various fields as well as related medical specialties and as an administrator.

She meant a great deal to me and my family and will be sorely missed but we are comforted that she will have rest in heaven and reunion with her parents, siblings and the rest of her friends and family.

God, grant eternal rest and blessed repose to your servant Marie
