Michael Anthony Perello

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Michael grew up in Rahway, NJ and later lived in Clark before moving to Margate, Florida 30 years ago. Michael is predeceased by his parents, David F. Perello and Catherine (Karanicola) Perello.

Michael graduated from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains in 1983 and attended Union County College. Known as “Mike” to many friends, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and upon returning back to NJ he worked in Landscape & Site Construction and became Shop Supervisor for a prominent Utility Construction Company in Union County, NJ.

Mike later moved to Florida to assist in caring for his mother, Catherine, and enjoyed socializing and volunteering at Church and Homeowner Association events with his friends and family. He was always there to help with a project and to assist those in need, especially the retired members in his community. Mike was a long-time parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in North Lauderdale, Fl, where he was involved in The Knights of Columbus, the Men’s Club, the Social Club, served as an usher, and volunteered regularly in the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Thrift Shop for many years. Mike was also a member of the Sons of The American Legion Squadron 0157.

Michael was most passionate about his close family and friends. Surviving are his brother Joseph Perello and his wife Angela, of Ocean County, NJ, their 2 sons, his daughter, Amanda (Perello) Podany and her husband Drew, of AZ, and their 3 sons - his grandchildren, and many cousins, second cousins, close friends, and their families.

Michael lived life to the fullest and most enjoyed relaxing in the sunshine, watching sporting events such as football, hockey, and wrestling, watching old movies, and listening to Christian Rock and Spiritual music. Michael will be remembered for his genuine kindness, caring nature, sense of humor, hearty laugh and comforting personality. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will always be loved and remembered.

Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Margate, FL is facilitating the cremation. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on July 22, 2026 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Brick, NJ. Internment at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ will be private at a later date.
