Nancy J. Lyons

Nancy was born in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph Howard and Marie Bradner on May 9, 1936. Nancy had four sisters and one brother.

In 1973, Nancy and her husband, Matthew Robert Lyons, moved to Tamarac, Florida, to raise their two daughters. Nancy began working for the Archdiocese of Miami as a school secretary in 1980. She most loved her 20+ years working at St. Malachy Catholic School, not retiring until she was 73. Nancy and her husband loved their involvement in the parish of St. Malachy. She taught religious education in the early years, supported her husband in running the yearly parish carnivals and weekly bingo. After she retired, she loved making Rosaries for the students of three Catholic Schools in the area and Rosaries to be shared on different mission trips of the St. Andrew Parish. In all, she made over 6500 Rosaries. In retirement, Nancy was an avid puzzler and Words with Friends player. She was a big Fox News fan and supporter of President Trump. For 14 years, she loved her little Princess, a maltipoo who lived up to her name. Most of all, Nancy loved her family and enjoyed living life to the fullest with them. Her quick wit would make you laugh and her smile would light up the room. Her family cherished her and will treasure so many precious memories of her for all of their lives.

Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Matthew Robert Lyons; parents, Joseph Howard and Marie Bradner; sister, Jeanne Aniello; nephews, Gary Aniello and Ronald Aniello.

Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Nancy-Jane (Mark) DiPrima and Jeanne (Glen) Plock; three sisters, Doris McEnroe, Maureen Casale, Judy (Bruce) Hickman; one brother, William Bradner; one grandson, Brandon Greene; and by 7 nieces and 11 great-nephews and great-nieces.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 4:oo to 8:00 pm at Kraeer Funeral Home at 1 North State Road 7, Margate, Florida 33063. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 9950 Northwest 29th Street, Coral Springs, Florida 33065. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Road 7, North Lauderdale, Florida 33068. Arrangements are by Kraeer Funeral Home, Margate, Florida.
