Richard P. Rogers, age 96, of North Lauderdale, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Richard ( Dick) Rogers as born in Waltham, Massachusetts. He joined the Navy with his twin brother Robert (Bob) at 17 where they fought for the United States in WW11 on the same ship the USS Pasadena. He spent most of his adulthood in the Bronx in New York, where he and his brother worked for the New York City Sanitation Department. Then they became New York City Police Officers and retired after 25 years. In his spare time, he also worked for Eastman Kodak taking models on location for photo shoots. After retiring, Dick and his family along with his in laws and mother moved to Florida in 1977 shortly after his twin Bob and his family. He then worked for Coloney Cleaners as a delivery driver and then on to Stouffers Food filling vending machines in the American Express Building where his brother Bob worked. He then worked for the US Postal Service where he retired again from.
Dick loved traveling with his family and reunions with the USS Pasadena shipmates. He loved Mickey Mouse & Disney World, RV camping, cruises and visiting his family in Maine. Of course his twin Bob was always included on these trips. He also loved bowling, coffee, donuts, ice cream and anything sweet.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary B. Rogers (Fitzpatrick) His daughter Kerri A. Dillon (Fried) and husband Scott S. Fried, his Son, Richard (Rick) R.T.Rogers and his wife Judy Ann Rogers ( Parker) His grandson William (B.J.) Dillon and his wife Cassie Dillon (Winder), his grandson Brandon Rogers and his wife Alesha Rogers (Collins) Along with his great grandchildren, Bryson Jones, Tyler Jones, Liam Dillon and Kinsley Dillon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Maine, Florida & Michigan. He is Preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Tautkas (Rogers) and his twin brother Robert (Bob) Rogers.
