Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son and Brother
Richard T. Skop passed away peacefully after a courageous and resilient battle with a long-term illness, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. A former cancer survivor, his strength and unwavering spirit carried him through the most challenging times, leaving a legacy of grace and determination that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Richard was the cherished husband and best friend of Carol Ann “Colucci” Skop of Lynn, Massachusetts. Their bond was built on four and a half decades of love, laughter, and mutual devotion—a true partnership in every sense.
He was a proud and devoted father to Richard Skop, Derek Skop, and Kevin Skop. His guidance and unwavering support shaped their lives and instilled values that continue to echo through generations. He taught his sons exactly the type of fathers, and human beings, they should strive to be.
Richard’s heart grew even fuller with the arrival of his grandchildren: Ryszard, Sunshine, Leonardo, and Reign Skop. They brought him endless joy, and he delighted in every moment he shared with them, passing on wisdom with a twinkle in his eye and a warm smile. He had a gentle touch that seemed to have cured colic, and was known by the grandkids as a bundle of fun who always found the time to play with them anytime they were together.
He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Victor and sister Diane, with whom he shared lifelong memories and enduring family ties. Richard is predeceased by Victor Skop and Kazimiera "Luszczak"
Richard’s strength, commitment and love for his family defined his days. He was an avid golfer with many hole in one's to his name, an excellent pool player, a creative inventor and resilient. Richard also loved to run, he would wake up before his work shifts, run through Breakheart reservation often out pacing his boys who were on their bicycles. He had an amazing sense of humor and told stories in a way only he could. His laugh will be forever remembered as he always smiled with eyes lit up, clasped his hands across his abdomen and let out his unique uncontrollable laughter. Though he has departed this life, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved—and who loved him so dearly in return. We miss and love you Ricky, we hope you’re shaving off strokes peacefully in heaven until the time we all meet again.
