
William Anthony McGinley, age 82, of Tamarac, FL, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda McGinley; his six children, Toni McGinley, Teri McGinley, Sean McGinley, Brian McGinley, Julie McGinley, and Kevin McGinley; as well as his 16 grandchildren, Anthony Russo, Daniel Russo, Lily Russo, Billy McGinley, Connor McGinley, Kieran McGinley, Emily McGinley, Liam McGinley, Declan McGinley, Haley Merchant, Shane Merchant, Myles Merchant, Molly McGinley, Keira McGinley, Loren Vassallo, and Julia Vassallo.
Billy grew up with his younger sister, Maryanne Farley, in the Bronx and Queens boroughs of New York City. After serving in the Army, he graduated Seton Hall College and worked briefly selling insurance in Bayside, NY. Bill then moved his family to Syosset and opened the Hitching Post Bar in Huntington, NY. He served his community as a coach and friend to many. He then opened the Peoples Pub in Elwood, NY, where he worked into his sixties.
Bill deeply loved his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (babysitter), and friend. Bill was a guiding light, fiercely loyal, and a lot of fun. Bill and Linda retired to The Mainlands of Tamarac, FL in 2012. After a long battle, Bill passed at the Hospice of Holy Cross Hospital. His family awaits a time that we can come together and celebrate the life of a wonderful man.
