The story of Yolanda Niglio and her beautiful large family started in the early 1940'. One day, Yolanda was at Rockaway Beach with some friends and happen to run into a young man named, Silvio Niglio. They eyes met and had a special connection was formed. After spending time together that day, Silvio asked her to take a picture with him with the ocean behind them and she agreed. Then they went their separate ways. Silvio held onto that picture. He was so taken by her that he took the picture of them. Silvio started asking people around the neighborhood if they knew her and where he could find her. He happened to go into a bar and asked a gentleman if he knew her, which was her brother, Ralph. Ralph warned Silvio to stay away from her but that did not stop him. They eventually came together, but he had to leave for the Army to serve in World War II. While he was away they continued to write back and forth. She would send him pictures of her.
When he returned from the war they decided to get married and started a wonderful family that was full of love. They lived in Long Island, New York where they opened up a restaurant, coffee shop and bar at MacArthur Airport. Their family began to grow as their 3 children started to have their own children.
After years of being in New York, they decided to move to Florida . Their children and grandchildren would follow. They lived in a one bedroom apartment where they would all go every Sunday. On Sunday, they would go to IHOP for breakfast and then go back to the apartment to have dinner with all of them. They would play cards, play outside, go to the pool, but whatever they did, they did together. After Silvio passed away, she decided to move in with her daughter which she stayed with until the end.
