

Alice Kupcewicz, 89, of Marietta, Ga passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Alice and her husband, Kip, originally from Melville, Long Island, NY were happily married for 65 years. Alice, a loving mother and grandmother was always busy raising her family and caring for everyone. She was very active in her church and spent almost 50 years volunteering between Huntington Hospital in NY and Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga. Alice was a wonderful cook and hostess. She was well known for her prize-winning cheesecake and her famous “Alice’s ice tea.” She was also a great bowler who played in leagues for years. She loved gardening and taking care of all of her plants and flowers - hummingbirds too. She was full of life and would do anything for her family and friends, a true ray of sunshine.
Alice is survived by her loving husband, Kip Kupcewicz of Marietta, Ga; two daughters, Diane Woods and husband, Howard of New Mexico, Janet Kupcewicz and her partner, Joyce Braid of Philadelphia; son, Mark Kupcewicz and his wife, Debra Dupuy of Acworth, Ga; two brothers, Carl Hojnowski and Eddie Hojnowski; sister, Wilma Hanson; three grandchildren, Alexandra Kupcewicz, Nicholas Kupcewicz and Christopher Kupcewicz; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6th at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta with a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta, Ga with Monsignor John Walsh officiating. Entombment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Ga.
