

Alice Bridges Stephens, age 94, of Marietta, GA passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Marshall Stephens, and her late son, Lee Paschal. She is survived by her grandson Scott Paschal, and daughter-in-law Debbie Paschal, her stepson James (Jim) Stephens, her stepdaughter Jane Butts (Steve); grandchildren Leigh Ann Thompson (Todd), Jamie McCrink (Jesse), Wesley Butts (Maristela), Roger Butts; great grandchildren Lauren Sanders, Michael Buice, Tyler McCrink and Kaleb McCrink. She is also survived by her niece Shelley Yancey, nephew David Jones, and cousin Ann Bishop, along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born and raised in New London, CT and eventually settling in Marietta, GA, Alice lived a life marked by kindness and devotion to her family and community. She graduated from Rockmart High School and then came to Cobb County where she eventually met and married Marshall Stephens. She devoted many years to helping Marshall run his hometown hardware store, Fair Oaks Paint and Hardware Co. Alice and Marshall’s 44-year marriage was a testament to their enduring love and devotion, a bond that remained strong throughout their time together. Alice and Marshall were longtime members of Marietta First United Methodist Church and were active in the Yaarab Shriners.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 2, at Mayes Ward Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the funeral service at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. Alice’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Samaritan’s Purse. Alternatively, floral tributes are gratefully welcomed.
