

Bernice was the heart of her family and a source of unconditional love, wisdom, and strength to all who knew her. Born on 10/25/1937 in Cherokee, NC, she lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and devotion to her loved ones.
Family was always her greatest joy. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished traditions that will continue to live on through the generations she nurtured. Whether preparing family meals, celebrating holidays, sharing stories, or offering a listening ear, she made every family member feel valued and loved. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
She is survived by daughters - Tammy Westbrook & Sandra Zehnder (Ronald Zehnder) Grandchildren - Rachel Minnis, Scott Westbrook, Tiffany Holt (Zehnder) & Latasha Davis and many great grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren, Brothers - Ray Ledford, Harold Ledford & Randall Ledford, who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her. She was preceded in death by Homer J. Hancock, Tanya D. Zehnder, Siblings - Ellis Ledford, Joe Ledford, Charles Ledford, Frances Cook & Bobby Ledford.
Those who knew Bernice will remember her gentle spirit, caring nature, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her love was a constant presence, providing comfort and guidance through life's challenges and celebrations alike.
While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of love, compassion, and family unity will endure in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A funeral will be held on June 15th, 2026 at 1:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her remarkable life from 11am - 1pm. Interment will take place following the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
