

Betty was born on August 3, 1929 in Marietta, daughter and only child of Henry and Thelma Hardage. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who was known for her kindness and sense of humor. She loved her church and was a long time member of Smyrna First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, doing crossword puzzles, watching American Idol, and drinking lots of Coca Cola. In her younger years, she also liked to play a weekly 9-hole round of golf with her girlfriends (her so called “golf buddies”).
Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by her husband William Ronald (Bill) Lewis. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Les and Angela Lewis of Tanner, AL and Wayne and Tandra Lewis of Powder Springs, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Matthew Lewis (Maggie), and Amanda Lachance (Sean), Bethany Emanuel (Mick), Isaac Lewis, Levi Lewis, John Lewis, Anna-Elizabeth Lewis, as well as six great grandchildren: Korah, Emmett and Ellie Lewis and Jack, Olivia, and Benjamin Emanuel.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna with Rev. Joey Hatchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
