Billie Ann Hall Beard

Billie Ann was a devoted follower of Christ, a loving wife, mother, Nana, teacher, and faithful friend. She was born on April 25, 1943, in Mississippi to Bill and Marion Hall. She was the oldest of three daughters and shared a strong bond with her sisters, Bettye Sue and Barbara, whom she loved dearly.

After graduating from Jones Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi, Billie Ann moved to Georgia, where she began a remarkable 41-year career as an elementary school teacher. Through her compassion, wisdom, and unwavering faith, she touched the lives of countless students and families. It was also in Georgia that she met the love of her life, Douglas Beard. Together they built a Christ-centered home and were blessed with three children: Kristena, Andrew, and Joy.

Billie Ann continued her teaching career in the Cobb County School District for 26 years at Big Shanty Elementary and Kennesaw Elementary. While teaching full-time and raising her family, she earned her master’s degree from Georgia Southwestern University. Beyond the classroom, Billie Ann mentored numerous student teachers, many of whom carried her passion for education and her love for children into their own classrooms, extending her legacy for generations to come.

Billie Ann’s greatest calling, however, was her faith in Jesus Christ. She and her family attended Mount Paran North Church of God, where she served and worshiped for many years. Following the passing of her beloved husband, she became actively involved in the church’s widows ministry, Joyful Hearts. Through handwritten notes, cards, and words of encouragement, she faithfully ministered to others walking through grief. It never took long in a conversation before Billie Ann would tell someone about Jesus. She was a devoted prayer warrior who lifted up her family, friends, and countless others before the Lord every day.

Billie Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Beard; her father, Bill Hall; and her mother, Marion Hall.

She is survived by her children, Kristena Beard of Canton Georgia, Andrew Beard of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Joy Ivey (Jade) of Kennesaw, Georgia; her cherished grandchildren, Zayne, Ayesha, Lillian, Hannah, and Patrick Douglas; her sisters, Bettye Sue Evans (Danny) of Petal, Mississippi, and Barbara Stallings (Ray) of McDonough, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

While our hearts grieve her absence, we do not grieve without hope. Billie Ann placed her unwavering trust in Jesus Christ, and we rejoice knowing she is now in His presence. We can only imagine the joy she experienced hearing the words of her Savior:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

A funeral service for Billie Ann will be 11 AM Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Mt. Paran Church of God North with Dr. Kirk Walters officiating. A private family burial will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta.
