

Donald Warren Nichols, 67, of Powder Springs, died Saturday, August 22, 2015. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Macland Chapel in Powder Springs, with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife, Virginia Parker Nichols; daughter Angela Nichols Holcombe (Michael); father, Joe Nichols (Katie), all of Powder Springs; sister, Linda Self (Bill), of Panama City, FL; two brothers, Jimmy Nichols, of Marietta, and Billy Nichols, of Powder Springs; one grandson, Beau Keller Eubanks, of Powder Springs; step-granddaughter, Katie Holcombe; sister in law, Rosanne Nichols, of Powder Springs; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Sarah Warren Nichols and brother, Ronald Nichols.
Mr. Nichols is lifelong resident of Cobb County and graduated McEachern High School in 1966. He served in the US Army, retired from United Parcel Service, owned and operated Nichols Stump Removal and worked at John Thorton Chevrolet. He was very passionate about Ride For Kids Charity Motorcycle Ride to support research and treatment needs for children suffering with brain tumors. He was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church and attended Macland Baptist Church. He was a member of Springville Lodge #153 F&AM. He loved Nascar, baseball and bird hunting. He was always willing to help a person in need.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
