Dorothy Dove Gentry

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 7:11 am, Dorothy Ann (Dove) Gentry left this earth at the age of 91 years old, and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She went peacefully as she slept. She joins her late husband of 57 years, Donald Gentry, who passed away July 6, 2013, and her late younger son, Kenneth Scott Gentry, who passed away on December 10, 2022. She also joins her late parents, Rush James Pinkney Dove and Ethel Jackson (Parker) Dove, her oldest sister, Vivian (Dove) Taylor-Bradford, and her late brother, Blanton Dove, Sr. She is survived by the following family members: her youngest sister Katherine (Dove) Barlow, her older son, Donald Keith Gentry, Sr. and his wife Joy, Kenneth’s wife Tammy S. Gentry, her grandchildren Donald Keith Gentry, Jr., James Kenneth Gentry, and Robert Clayton Gentry, her granddaughters-in-law Melissa Nicole (Nelson) and Emily (Ashburn), great-grandchildren Rush Alton Gentry and Kaidence Elise Gentry, and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grand-nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s visitation gathering will be on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home in Acworth, Georgia. There will be a gathering for a meal to celebrate Dorothy at a local restaurant to be determined. Please check with Keith for details.

Dorothy’s funeral service will be on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a processional from Collins Funeral Home to Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, 1306 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, Georgia, 30064, for Dorothy’s graveside service, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Donald. Following the graveside service, there will be a meal at Kennesaw United Methodist Church, 1801 Ben King Road, Kennesaw, Georgia, 30144, in room 137.
