Dorothy Moore Roberts

Born August 27, 1921, in Madison, GA to Reid and Edna (Cochran) Moore, Dorothy graduated Madison High School and Berry College. She married her college sweetheart, Arthur T. Roberts, in 1942, and he preceded her in death in 1974. Dorothy taught at Robert L. Osborne Elementary, and then devoted her time to volunteer efforts after her retirement. She was the eldest of six children, and she was preceded in death by three of her brothers: Wallace, Robert, and Eugene Moore.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Linda (Roberts) Wimberly of Marietta; two granddaughters, Susan Wimberly Honea (Matthew) of Woodstock, and Sheri Beth Wimberly-Scovil (Noah) of Marietta; and one great-granddaughter, Caroline Honea of Woodstock. She is also survived by two brothers, Lamar Moore (Mildred) of Alexandria, VA and James Moore (Ellen) of Leesburg, FL; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cup of Kindness c/o Marietta First Baptist Church, 148 Church Street, Marietta, GA 30060.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta with a Funeral Service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
