Dottie Pearl Beadles

Funeral Services for Mrs. Beadles will be held Wednesday August 5 th , 2026, at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Powder Springs, GA at 11:00 AM. With visitation from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.

Born on August 9, 1932, in Ivydale, West Virginia, Dottie lived a life defined by hard work, resilience, and devotion to her family. She believed that if something needed to be done, you rolled up your sleeves and did it. If something was broken, you figured out how to fix it. That practical, hardworking spirit stayed with her throughout her life. Dottie married Kenneth Beadles in 1952, and together they raised a loving family. In the late 1960’s, they moved their family to West Cobb, where they became members of County Line Methodist Church. The church became an important part of their lives, and they remained faithful members until their passing. After Kenneth's death in 1980, Dottie continued to live independently for the next 46 years, staying in her own home until 2026. She was strong-willed, determined, and proud of being able to take care of herself. Her family admired her independence and the way she always found a way to get things done.

She retired from S.P. Richards Company after many years in accounting, where her talent with numbers served her well. But work was only one part of who she was. Dottie enjoyed tending her vegetable garden, working word search puzzles, ballroom and square dancing, and trying her luck with scratch-off lottery tickets or an occasional trip to the casino. She was always looking for a new project, often rearranging the furniture just because she thought it was time for a change. Growing up in the hills of West Virginia, she became an excellent marksman, and her family loved to say she could shoot a squirrel from just about any distance.

More than anything else, Dottie loved her family. She was happiest surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She may not have said it out loud, but each of them knew they were loved with all her heart. Dottie loved deeply and showed her love in the best way she knew how.

She is survived by her three sons, Steve Beadles (Charlotte), Terry Beadles (Deanna), and Mike Beadles (Joyce).

She was a proud grandmother to Amanda Stumpenhorst (Jared), Deborah McElvey (Chaz), Kristi Perry (Kyle), and Trenton Smart. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Matthew Beadles.

She also leaves behind eleven cherished great-grandchildren: J.C., Will, and Zach McElvey; Andy, Maddie, and Grace Stumpenhorst; Benji, Nolan, Ford, and Hudson Perry; and Zach Smart.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Beadles; her parents, Spurgeon and Amanda Walker; and her siblings, Lonnie Walker, Donald Walker, Dennis Walker, Darius Walker, Denzil Walker, Vicki Walker Brien, and Deloris Walker Powell. Dottie was also preceded in death by her longtime friend, Dub Crane, whose friendship brought her many years of companionship and special memories.

She is survived by her brother, Bobby Rogers (Virginia). Dottie will be remembered as a woman who lived with grit, grace, and a generous heart. Her family will forever cherish her example of strength, the lessons she taught without ever needing many words, and the countless memories she created through a life devoted to those she loved.
