

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 10:55 a.m., immediately prior to the service. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.

Born in Marietta, Eddie attended Marietta City Schools and was a graduate of Marietta High School. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and retired from the United States Postal Service after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
Genealogy and local history were lifelong passions for Eddie. He devoted countless hours to researching and documenting family histories and stories, which he shared through his blog, http://chicken-fat.com. Eddie was known for his ability to blend humor into both his writing and his everyday experiences, bringing warmth and wit to all who knew him.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Edwin Tyson Hunter, Sr. and Ethel America ‘Janie’ Petty Hunter and his two sisters Frances and Bonita Hunter.
Survivors include his wife of over 58 years Anna Prance Hunter; sons, Adam Hunter and Rockwell Hunter and his wife Sabrina; grandson Benjamin Rockwell Hunter; many cousins and a multitude of friends.
