Faye Wright Koontz

A Funeral Service to celebrate Faye’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel in Marietta with Rev. Steve Pettit officiating. Interment will follow in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery on Whitlock in Marietta.

She was born July 20th, 1934 in Cedartown, GA. She is the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Naomi Campbell Wright and sister of the late Widson Carroll and Benjamin Wright. Ms. Koontz passed from this life on Sunday at Canton Nursing Center in Canton, GA.

Survivors include her three sons, Tim and wife Rhonda, Mark and wife, Kimberley, Jeff and wife, Gina Grantham; grandchildren, Ben, Jeremy, Eric, Will and Anna Grantham and Jamie Redd, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by Robert Grantham (father of Gary, Tim, Mark and Jeff), husband, William Koontz, son, Gary Grantham and granddaughter, Jennifer Grantham.

Faye was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished having her family together at her home for special events and holidays. She has been a lifelong member of the Baptist church and current member of Woodstock First Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Sunday School and Church Services until her health declined such that she was no longer able to attend.

Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
