George Eugene McConnell

George McConnell, 86, of Marietta died Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Jimmy Crooks officiating. Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.

Mr. McConnell was born, raised, lived, and worked in Cobb County. He was a Navy Veteran in WWII. Mr. McConnell loved to spend time with his family. The family would like to thank the staff at Kennestone Hospital for taking care of their father.

Survivors include his daughter, Annette Wilcox and her husband, Roy; two sons, Eddie McConnell and his wife, Karen, Mickey Cantrell; three sisters, Mary Anna Vickers, Allene Hill, Virginia Rampley; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Sue Tinsley McConnell and Ruth McConnell; his parents, V.B. and Anna McConnell; his brothers, Ray Dean McConnell and Charles McConnell.
