

Preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Marilyn Ellis, Harold is survived
by his daughters Cynthia Medford (husband Norman), Caron Gossett
(husband Keith), Lori Potts (husband Mark), Dedra Maloney (husband
Christian) and his son Bart Ellis (fiance’ Elena)
Sister Mildred Samples of Smyrna, Grandchildren - Tiffany Medford,
Brandon Medford, Alex and Lindsey Gossett, Ethan and Rachel Gossett,
Jenna and William Broadwater, Miranda and Ryan Glancy, Alyssa Potts,
Barrett Maloney, Parker Maloney, Chloe Ellis, Ava Ellis, Addison Ellis,
Palmer Ellis, Great Grandchildren - Sophie, Liam, Hudson and Ellie
Gossett, Miles and Amelia Glancy, Landon Gossett and Arya Broadwater,
along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Harold was born on March 31, 1929 to William Henry and Ruby Lee Ellis in
Canton, Georgia, and grew up in the Whittier Mill Village, in Atlanta.
Harold served in the U.S.Army from 1950 to 1953, fought in the Korean
War, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart
for injuries sustained in battle.
He was employed by General Motors and worked 34 years on the
assembly line in Doraville.
Following retirement, Harold joined his wife Marilyn, volunteering his
building and painting skills at the North Georgia State Fair every year for
25 years. He also spent his time gardening, grandfathering, and
watching Golf, Falcons Football, Georgia Football and Western Movies. He
enjoyed estate sales and was always looking for something someone could
use.
Funeral Service will be Friday, November 7th, in the Chapel of Carmichael
Funeral Home in Marietta, with Pastor Glenn Rountree and Pastor Kenneth Coomer III officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 12:45 pm, with the memorial service at 1pm.
Graveside service will follow at
Kennesaw Memorial Park with Military Honors.
