James W. Ross Sr., age 80, of Marietta died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from complications of his three year fight with Cancer. He leaves his lovely wife of 54 years, Teresa, a son Jimmie his wife Sheila of Woodstock, a daughter Martha her husband Dan Futral of Somerville, TN, a son Eddie of Marietta, a son Russell of Acworth and a son David and his wife Julie of Marietta; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a brother Bill Ross of Hoschton, GA and a sister Mary Batastini of Hilton Head, S.C. James was born and raised in Eastman, GA until he joined the Army and served his country for 28 yrs. He was a Korean War Veteran. He then served his community as owner and CEO of Ross Memorial Health Care for 39 years. He loved being around people and always loved seeing the staff and the residents at Ross Memorial and Shady Grove Manor. His interests included farming, golfing and following politics. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Visitation is Friday July 12th from 2 -4 and 6-8 pm at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Rd., Marietta, GA 30066. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 13th at 11am, at Marietta Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta.
