Joyce Elaine Andrews

Joyce Pickartz Andrews, 67 Joyce Elaine Pickartz was born October 17, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois and entered into eternal rest due to cardiac arrest on May 10, 2013 in Marietta, Georgia. Joyce was a Graduate of Lakeshore High School in College Park, Georgia and The University of Georgia where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Joyce worked for Eastern Airlines as a Reservations Agent for 21 years until taking early retirement, then worked as a Professional Travel Agent for over 20 years. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, father Eastern Airlines Captain and US Naval Reserve Commander (Ret.) Herbert Charles Pickartz and mother Lorraine Thurnes Pickartz She also lost her eight day old daughter Jennifer Nicole Andrews and sister Jacqueline Pickartz Lyles. Mrs. Andrews is survived by her husband of 43 years James L. Andrews II; sons James L. Andrews III (Christine) and Joseph C. Andrews; sister Janice Pickartz Palmer (Scott); sister-in-law Lynn Andrews Woodward (Terry); grandchildren Kylie, Keller and Ryder Andrews; nephews Richard Garrett IV (Jill) and Grant Palmer; nieces Kelly Garrett Posey (Todd) and Maria Palmer as well as two uncles, numerous cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces. She also left behind her three beloved dachshunds, Greta, Fritz & Hansel. Memorial Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 1 with Visitation at noon followed by the Service at 1:00 pm. I am so sorry to hear about Joyce's sudden passing. I was a fellow Eastern Airlines employee also and at Avoya Travel, which is how I met Joyce, we discussed this quite a bit. Started my career with Eastern in College Park, Georgia, also. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Joyce's family. So, so sorry for your loss. She is missed at Avoya Travel. Sandy Phillips

I'm so very sorry for your loss Jim and family. I met Joyce in person on the Epic back in 2011 with Avoya Travel. She was a wealth of knowledge and always so willing to share that knowledge. She will be deeply missed.

I am do sorry for your loss I had the pleasure of meeting her when I decided to go on a cruise she helped us book it and the last time I talk to her was in December of 2012 we always talk for a long time and I enjoyed her conversations she was such a sweet lady she will b missed u guys r in my prayers (tears)

Joyce was my sister in AOPi and roommate in the sorority house. We had reconnected through FB and were enjoying getting to know each other again. I am so shocked to learn of her death. My prayers are with her family and friends.
