LeVert W. Franklin

Mrs. LeVert Weems Franklin age 98 of Chapman Ford Rd. Blairsville formerly of Marietta passed away peacefully on Friday Jan. 23, 2015 in Lazy R Assisted Living following an extended illness. Mrs. Franklin was born on Jan. 4, 1917 in Cartersville, GA., the daughter of the late Joseph Weems and the late Levert S. Baldwin Weems. LeVert was a member of the Junior League, the Garden Club and Past President of the PTA. She was a loving mother, grandmother and was a friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar H. Franklin Sr. in 1992, a son, Michael W. Franklin, also by two brothers, Pope and Norwood Weems, two sisters, Frances Martin and Julia Weems. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville. Surviving Mrs. Franklin are two sons and one daughter in law, Lamar and Jackie Franklin of Blairsville, Donald Franklin Sr. of Anchorage, Alaska, three grandchildren, Trey Franklin of Nashville, TN., Scott and Tammy Franklin of Raleigh, NC., Doug Franklin Jr. of Maryland, a host of her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held at a later date from the First United Methodist Church and will be announced. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta where she will rest next to her beloved husband, Lamar.
